No. Affordable Housing uses a self-declaration process rather than requiring proof of Indigenous status.
What unit sizes fall under this program?
Bachelor, one-bedroom to three-bedroom
How much is the rent?
Affordable Housing rents are below market but are not geared to income. Specific rental amounts vary by unit and availability
What needs to be submitted with the application?
☐ Completed Affordable application ☐ Self-declaration of Indigenous Ancestry ☐ SIN Card/ paper for all household members over the age of 16 ☐ Birth certificates for all household members
Is it pet-friendly?
Yes, Affordable units are pet-friendly
How long can I stay in the unit?
You can stay in the unit for as long as you want.
Are utilities included?
Yes, all affordable units include utilities in the rent.
