Our Story
Tipi Moza (Iron Homes) is an urban Indigenous housing provider in Kingston, Ontario, founded in 1989 by Indigenous community members to offer culturally sound, affordable, rent-geared-to-income housing for First Nation, Métis, and Inuit families.
It provides culturally safe homes and support, growing from an initial 17 homes to managing over 60 households across 5 programs.
In 2004, Tipi Moza was the second Canadian non-profit to purchase a federal building under the Surplus Federal Real Property for Homelessness Initiative, converting former RCMP offices at 1061 Johnson Street into affordable housing.
